Work on a small orchard has progressed well this spring with over 40 different varieties of apples, plums and damsons now established. Orchards are great for wildlife and already we have noticed an increase in the numbers of birds in the orchard area. These are the varieties we have planted - some local, some adapted to our damp soil and some of our favourites.
